When I first discovered Little Jimmy's, I couldn't believe that it had taken me so long to step foot into the restaurant. It's not a fancy place, but it's a favorite among many who work in the Greenway Plaza area. Seriously, if you go at prime lunch time around noon, prepare to wait in line. It's well worth the wait!
Little Jimmy's has their sandwich staples that you can order, or you can create your own sandwich. Choose your bread, meat, dressing, veggies, and extras. You can also create a salad, but I usually don't like paying for lettuce and prefer something a little more hearty!
If you're a breakfast lover like myself, go in at any time (before 4ish) and order breakfast. The pancakes are amazing (they'll put bacon in them if you request), and I also have tried their gyro omelette which wowed me. My favorite sandwich is the Jimbo Special - Jalapeno cheddar bread, gyro meat, mozzarella cheese, and I add my choice of vegetables to give it some crunch.
The best part is Little Jimmy's cookies. Holy cow...I don't even know where to begin with these. This is the epitome of the perfect chocolate chip cookie: slightly golden and crispy on the outside, but gooey, warm, and soft on the inside. I drool just thinking about these. They're always baking them fresh, so if the cookie stand looks bare when you walk in, have no fear, because it just means they're baking another batch fresh for you. Knock yourself out and get 2.
This is definitely one of Houston's underrated gems. Little Jimmy's is quick, inexpensive, and SO dang good. If you haven't been yet, go and try breakfast and lunch...yes, at the same time (been there, done that). Pancakes, a sandwich, and a fresh baked cookie have never gone better together.
