Drexel House

Spring doesn't just mean warmer weather and blooms, it means patio weather.  After-work happy hours, weekend brunch, and maybe some day drinking in between.  Drexel House has you covered (literally).
Highland Village has always been one of my favorite areas of Houston.  The retail, restaurants, and stores are A+, and the year-round Christmas lights are a huge bonus for me.  Yes, I love Christmas lights all the time.  Parking is another story, but let's leave that negativity out of here!

Drexel House is across from the Apple Store and Sprinkles and right next to Victoria's Secret.  I have to hide my credit card next time and just avoid the temptation at all costs.

We sat outside on the patio on a Thursday evening.  The staff is friendly, atmosphere is great, and the rooftop/tarps leave a very open, fresh-air vibe.

We started off with an order of calamari and a caprese salad.  Their presentation is on point, but more importantly, the food here is prepared to perfection.  Nothing is overly salted and everything is fresh.

I decided on the kale salad with grilled shrimp and was not disappointed.  I'm not someone who tends to order salads at a restaurant for dinner, so this is saying a lot.  I love a good kale salad, and I prefer a more savory salad and dressing over sweet.  Drexel House hit it spot on.  They serve plenty of shrimp as well, so you don't feel like you got ripped as you might at a few other restaurants (ahem, no names).

Drum roll...dessert.  The most important part of a meal.  All I have to say is, DAMN.  Drexel House kills the dessert game and has me wanting to sit in 5 o'clock Galleria traffic just to get my hands on their chocolate croissant bread pudding.  Trust me when I say you have to try it.

Drexel House is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner + Sunday brunch.  You can probably catch me there at some point during each meal.
